TripAdvisor names Greek Island of Naxos among best in world
Naxos ranked sixth best island in the world in the TripAdvisor 2014 Traveler’s Choice Awards.
“A spot of white in the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, the island of Naxos is a unique blend of ancient ruins and beach culture. The largest of the Cycladic Islands, Naxos is the childhood home of none other than Zeus, king of the gods. At sunset, the views of the island, and the sea beyond, are breathtaking” travel review site, Tripadvisor, said referring to the largest island of the Cyclades group.
The awards were given to islands that received the highest marks in the quality and quantity of hotels, restaurants and attractions from TripAdvisor users over the past year.
On Naxos, which also ranked number two in the best island in Europe category, Tripadvisor says:
“There is something transporting about an island vacation, and these Travelers’ Choice Islands winners will help travelers find their next escape,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
